text on images

Jacqueline asked 4 months ago

I am making my website using the Adirondack template in Squarespace.

I am writing everything in English and French.

I am an artist so there is a lot of images and also a shop linked by Shopify buy it now buttons.

Is this set up going to be OK with your multilingualizer?

What happens with the text I write over images? (using Squarespace text tool, not in the graphics) And also the text on buttons?

Thank you very much

If you look at our support pages, you will see a couple of options for images. If you actually write the text on the image, in your paint program, then there’s an option to display images only for certain languages – e.g. add [english] to the caption or description of an English-only image and it will be hidden for other languages.

A better approach would be if your text was written on top of the images using HTML and then you can use the normal 4-2-4 dot notation to tell the Multilingualizer which text to hide.
