Questions & AnswersCategory: QuestionsTrouble with some hard-coded words
Thomas asked 8 years ago
Greetings! I've been working to get our site up and running with our various translations. I inserted the big chunk 'o code that handles the hard-coded translations, but alas, there are four sets of words/phrases that are not translating properly. I still have to copy the code for German and Italian (though I confess I'm surprised no one out there has already done this and we don't simply have a nice library where we can freely share code with each other), but I wanted to get French working fully first. The website is here: http://www.werth-it.ch/#home-page If you switch to French and then place your cursor on the little downward-pointing arrow, you'll see "Scroll Down" appear. I added that to the code with the appropriate translation (at the bottom, where the code states to copy and use the line of code for any other words that need translating, but as you can see, it's not working. I know I've done it properly because other areas DID translate. If you then scroll all the way to the bottom you will find the footer - in there, you'll see the three newsletter fields that needed to be filled out and inside them, in very light grey text, you'll see "First Name" "Last Name" and "Email Address." As you can see, those aren't translating properly to French, either, and I can't figure out why. I've gone through the "Newsletter" tabs and not found a place where I needed to enter the text in manually. Any ideas? Thank you! Overall, I'm really thrilled with this plugin. It's amazing!

Could really use some help with this, as I have looked everywhere possible and these four items of code still are not translating properly.

These grey pieces of text in the box are placeholders – I’ll send you an email so you can invite me as contributor and I’ll figure out a fix on your site then add it into the main chunk of code.
